Namastey!
Ambika Maji here.
Here are a few highlights about me
- 7+ years of experience in content marketing
- Top skills: B2B Content Marketing, SEO Content Writing (Long & Short form), and social media marketing (Focus - LinkedIn)
- Industries I've previously worked in: MarTech, Marketing Agency, Manufacturing, and Testing
Ok, now, here’s my story…
I started writing way back in school days: Fiction novels, short stories, and elaborate essays.
In 2016, during my higher secondary, I got an opportunity to work as a freelance content writer.
Initially, I didn't enjoy it because back then, it was more of “keyword stuffing” and forcing to make the stuffed content to sound natural.
Plus, it was all about quantity over quality.
I learned SEO over the years and worked for agencies as a part-time content writer after my college hours.
I completed my bachelor's and master's in Journalism and Mass Communication and then shifted to corporate roles in 2021 (since I wanted to experience that as well).
So, yes, I do have experience working as a freelancer, agency writer, and in-house marketer.
I've been primarily involved in B2B marketing.
Over the years, I've learned a great deal about managing end-to-end content marketing and establishing a brand presence online.
Here are a few achievements I'm proud of
- Managing a complete revamp of the website for a 2000cr B2B Manufacturing Company
- 2x LinkedIn follower growth within 1 year using organic content
- Boosted LinkedIn engagement by 30% by using organic content marketing tactics (majorly trial and error, but it worked!)
- Single-handedly ideated and executed monthly newsletters for employees and company announcements.
Due to my experiences so far, I've gained a few soft skills
- Strategic thinking (because I was in multiple situations where I took end-to-end responsibility)
- Communication skills
- Storytelling
- Project management
- Analytical mindset
- Creativity + Problem solving
- Persuasion + Stakeholder management (learned this the hard way!)
- Audience understanding (very important!)
Recently, I completed my MBA in marketing and did a course on Advanced Digital Marketing and Communication from MICA X Upgrad.
Finally, I decided to shift to freelancing in 2025.
Why?
- Reason #1: I enjoy the freedom it provides + the fact that I'm not bound to 1 single type of work, so I can use all my skills.
- Reason #2: I can work from anywhere I want and take holidays anytime.
- Reason #3: I recently got married and am planning for kids. So, freelancing seemed like a good fit.
